What is decision analysis?

The science known as “Decision Analysis” was developed at the Engineering School of Stanford and in the Business School of Harvard around forty years ago. The first ones in using these techniques were the leading companies in industries such as oil, pharmaceutical, chemical, automobile, government and intelligence agencies. These organizations have typically used the decision analysis to make resources allocation more efficient, optimize their portfolios and make strategic decisions that could be mathematically modeled. In Tandem we combine the traditional quantitative tools with the soft techniques from behavioral sciences. We think that a great part of the decision problems the companies have to face are not solved through mathematical models but through an effective work on attitudes and psychological mechanisms where decisions are chained. Nowadays, leading companies in the world are successfully applying these methodologies for different and strategic situations.
